HomeVive program – August Locum opportunity

The HomeVive team is looking for part-time locum coverage during the month of August. This is a unique opportunity to participate on a team of physicians and allied health professionals working together to provide 24/7 primary care to frail homebound elders in Vancouver. For the month of August, the team is looking for a locum to cover a cohort of patients which would equate to 2 days per week of booked appointments. There is flexibility in terms of scheduling – coverage doesn’t always have to be on the same day of the week and could be spread out into 4 half-days if desired. Within the team-based model of care, a locum would also be expected to answer calls from the care team outside of scheduled ‘shifts’. On average 3-6 patients are booked in a half-day session. The patient cohort is spread out geographically across Vancouver, but shifts are mostly pre-booked to minimize travel. This is a fee-for-service practice, but remuneration is comparable to PMA current sessional rate. Since there is no office space, there is minimal overhead and locums will not be charged a billing split. Interested candidates will require their own vehicle and cell-phone. There is an opportunity for training and shadow-shifts prior to start date.
