Role and Facility Information

Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and the University of British Columbia Hospital (UBC) are seeking a full-time combined Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiologist to join Vancouver Imaging, a dynamic group of 26 academic radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to VGH and the UBC Hospitals.

All candidates must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed training in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful applicant will be located at VGH and UBC Hospitals.

We are seeking an academically oriented Nuclear Medicine Radiologist with a strong interest and experience in research and teaching. Specialized interest in innovative educational initiatives, with a PhD in education focused in expanding and promoting pioneering teaching methods in the undergraduate and post graduate fields is highly desirable.

Clinical work involves expertise in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine including experience with cardiac nuclear medicine, cross sectional imaging as it applies to SPECT/CT and PET/CT. Training and experience in the interpretation of general and cardiac nuclear medicine, PET/CT procedures and I131 therapy along with IR procedures such as lumbar puncture, myelograms and arthograms. The applicant will be working in a multidisciplinary group and must be willing to cover additional areas in general radiology for up to 50% of the time. The applicant should also have experience with having worked at an accredited Level 1 trauma center and have certification in Cardiac CT and expertise in Dual Energy CT techniques.

The successful candidate will enjoy a challenging practice including CT, US, MRI and General Radiography in a PACS environment. The remuneration and vacation arrangements are competitive for this geographic region. Following a successful probation period, the candidate will have the opportunity to join this collaborative practice. University appointment at the University of British Columbia will be granted in the clinical stream commensurate with previous rank/experience.
