Vancouver Community Mental Health Services is currently in the process of improving services to vulnerable, disenfranchised youth and young adults in Vancouver. The psychiatrist who accepts this position will provide psychiatric management as part of a multi-disciplinary team to a diverse population of youth who present with mental health, addiction and medical issues. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people who are otherwise not accessing traditional mental health services.

The psychiatrist will be part of the Youth Outreach Mental Health Program which takes a collaborative approach in working with youth who are often difficult to engage and have complex mental health and addiction needs. In addition to working with the Outreach team the Psychiatrist will provide Psychiatric support to an intensive case management team that covers low barrier housing, detox and substance use recovery beds.

The program is currently implementing a strategic plan that will improve the quality and accessibility of mental health services.
