Fewer than 100,000 people live in this breathtaking region of central BC, a place of open rangeland and rolling hills. An excellent territory for cattle-raising, it is home to numerous working ranches.

Along the rugged coastline are the world's longest fjords-forming a natural gateway to scenic coves and pristine beaches. Eight thousand clean, clear lakes and 17,000 kilometres of cool rivers and streams make this one of the world's finest regions for sport fishing and canoeing. You can spend summers horseback riding or taking interpretive nature walks and winters backcountry skiing or touring by dog sled. History buffs can relive the Gold Rush days in historic Barkerville. It's no wonder this region is known as the land without limits.

British Columbia's patient-centred health care system is structured to achieve the highest possible levels of efficiency, service co-ordination, and accountability. The Cariboo Chilcotin Region is made up of four health authorities, Interior, Northern, Vancouver Coastal, and Provincial Health Services.
