The last few years have seen the rise of several social networking websites. Facebook was one of the first networks to obtain blockbuster status, leveraging itself as a platform for people to connect with their friends online. Twitter followed up on the success of Facebook, differentiating itself because of its public nature; namely, the user tendency to relay breaking news faster than any other media source. One-stop system for posting vacancies
|
In March 2011, Health Match BC launched a new website aimed at making it easier for prospects and candidates to find information on jobs throughout BC, explore their options, and then navigate the job search and licensing process.
“We also implemented a new employers section, to make it easier for publicly-funded health care employers in BC to post vacancies,” said Yvonne Attwood, the Office Manager for Health Match BC who works with employers. Read on...

Recruiting partnership with Divisions of Family Practice
In the past year, Health Match BC has partnered with the Divisions of Family Practice, community-based groups of family physicians working together to achieve common health care goals. The divisions, or groups, report to the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC), which was established under the Physician Master Agreement by the BC Medical Association and the Ministry of Health. Northern recruiter feels privileged to help her community

Bev Boyd clearly remembers the day she decided to join the health professional recruiting team at Northern Health. “It was in 2001, when our health authority was created, that my manager asked me if I would want to join the new recruiting team,” recalled Bev, Northern Health’s nursing and allied health recruiter. “When she told me what the job entailed, I thought what an amazing opportunity to work with the team and also help out my community.” Her story...
